Hi all I go under the name Miss Silver Dee, also Silver or Dee to good friends, Miss to my not so good friends. (I’m not to be mistaken with the German bass player Miss Silver Dee from the Bebops, I’m to Dutch for that and don’t play an instrument). Why haven’t you seen or met me before? Well, because I’m new to the Irish Rockabilly scene. Just couldn’t find you guys and no wonder because I live in County Kerry where it doesn’t happen…an excuse? Maybe not… but I do have a bundle of pets (ferrets, parrots, reptiles, cats and dogs) that only allow me to do weekend day trips or weekenders most of the time as an excuse . Another reason might be because I love the vintage and retro life style, music and vehicles in all its aspects and I just happen to like the Rockabilly part of that a lot too. Anything from between the 1940’s and 1960 makes me tick really. Even though I do own a little Honda 70 from a bit later on: 1975 (another hobby). I’ve been to one or two gigs in the UK (and plan to go to more) and to a couple of places in The Netherlands too (the latter once upon a time when I was young and beautiful). Missed out on the July 17th Enniscorthy fest …was in the UK that weekend enjoying a gig there … So I figure if I hang out here long enough, I get to meet more cats ‘n kittens and finally find out where it’s all happening in Ireland so that I won’t miss too much anymore. See ya around folks! Miss Silver Dee

Hi Miss SilverDee, welcome to the madhouse, I feel your pain, I'm in West County Cork where it just doesn't happen either, still, there's a real great bunch of guys and girls on here and plenty of gig and club info etc, so enjoy, all the best, Aidan.

Welcome, I live in Kerry myself. Always a bit of a trek to get to gigs etc but its generally worth it. There is no rockabilly scene here really but we're working on it....

Hello Miss Silver Dee, You should let Gibo take a look at that Honda 70 for you... jet up the carb, pop in an oversize piston... 125 mph no bother Anyway, welcome to the board, enjoy yourself.

Thanks for the warm welcome all, appreciate it Mhhhh, so there is more going on in Munster than I thought so at first...deadly... @ Thing in the attic; I just did a 50's run yesterday and she was going a nice 50mph on the stretch with no shaking and I'm fierce proud of her too (the bike's name is Betty by the way *Silver Dee shrugs shoulders and says* what else.), but I will keep the name Gibo in mind just in case... @ Sharkey; have the name Rumbleshack written down and will be at their next gig for sure...checked out their website and listened to the demo on it, they sound cool... @ Dee; by the sound of it I fit in just fine... And if anyone from this nick of the woods has room available in their vehicle when traveling to a gig and ye are looking for company, give me a holler! I can party alone but prefer to do it with friends... Reminds me: anyone going over to UK soon for either Hemsby 45 or the Rhythm Riot? Am looking to share a space... Miss Silver Dee
